Navie App
reproductive health & fertility journey application
reproductive health & fertility journey application
Despite remarkable strides in fertility treatments over the past four decades, the tools and applications available often compound rather than alleviate the stress and anxiety associated with reproductive health journeys. With a staggering 1.9 billion individuals globally identifying as female and a significant 35% utilizing menstrual cycle monitoring applications, the demand for effective support has never been more pressing.
Navie App offers a comprehensive suite of features, from menstrual cycle tracking and ovulation prediction to fertility treatment management. Its medication alerts ensure you never miss a dosage, while securely stored medical records keep you organized and empowered throughout your journey.
However, even with such innovative solutions at hand, the Navie team faced a unique challenge. Despite having a developed application, it remained unreleased due to numerous bugs and a misalignment with its original vision. This is where JetRockets stepped in.
For JetRockets, the challenge was not merely about creating something from scratch but rather about identifying areas within the existing Navie app that required improvement to align with its intended purpose. It presented an unconventional task: not to build an idea from the ground up but to refine an already existing application and prepare it for launch.
Additionally, the challenge for JetRockets extended to the unconventional technologies utilized within the application. Unlike the standard technologies typically employed by JetRockets, the frontend of the app was based on Iaptic, while the backend relied on C#.
“If we had partnered with JetRockets at the start of our development process, it would have saved us months of time and thousands of dollars in development costs.”
Every unconventional challenge demands an unconventional approach. In this case, our team recognized that conventional project development steps wouldn't suffice. Our initial step involved conducting a thorough analysis of the application's code to determine if it was salvageable. Additionally, we needed to align the application's feature requirements with its implementation to identify any discrepancies. These discrepancies formed the basis for fixing bugs and enhancing the application's functionality.
Following the initial analysis phase, our team concluded that a complete rewrite of the application was unnecessary. However, significant improvements were needed to realize functionality. Key areas requiring fixes and enhancements were identified.
One of our most significant changes involved migrating a portion of the algorithm responsible for menstrual cycle prediction to the server. Initially, nearly all of the application's functionality, including computational algorithms, was implemented on the frontend. However, we determined that this was not the most reliable approach for computational algorithms. Therefore, we relocated the prediction algorithm to the server-side to ensure more dependable computations and smoother application operation.
In the development of the Navie application, we focused extensively on functionality that could significantly ease users' journeys in managing their reproductive health and fertility. Through our efforts, we've helped create an intuitive and feature-rich application that offers users a wide range of tools and capabilities.
One of the key features of the application is menstrual cycle monitoring and ovulation prediction. Navie allows users to track their menstrual cycles and predict ovulation, helping them optimize their chances of conception and plan their actions in line with their fertile window.
Additionally, the application includes features for tracking infertility treatments, including IUI and IVF cycles. This enables users to organise their treatment procedures and stay informed about all stages of their treatment.
Navie's primary goal is to provide users with a convenient tool for managing their medical information, medications, and appointments in a familiar and accessible format.
Built around a calendar interface, the application enables users to organize their medical information within the context of their individual treatment journeys, facilitating convenient and effective management of their reproductive health.
Overall, Navie offers a comprehensive suite of features and tools necessary for confident and informed management of reproductive health and fertility.
Integral to Navie are notifications and reminders for medication intake and scheduled appointments. The application automatically sends users timely reminders to take their medications or attend appointments, ensuring adherence to treatment regimens and important medical appointments.
After implementing strategic changes and enhancements to the Navie application, the results were significant and promising. By migrating the computational algorithm responsible for menstrual cycle prediction to the server-side, we ensured more reliable computations and smoother application performance. The thorough analysis conducted by our team enabled us to identify and address crucial discrepancies, leading to a more robust and user-friendly application.
Through the dedicated efforts of the JetRockets team, the application underwent 3.5 months of refinement before being released for beta testing. Achieving this milestone within such a short timeframe was possible due to optimal solutions for improving the application and the seamless collaboration within the team. We're eagerly anticipating its official release and are confident in its potential to positively impact users' reproductive health journeys.
